SOFTBOUND.  MINT. 1980  1st edition. by JOHNNY COOPER (published by SUPREME)
The late 1970's and early 1980's remind me a bit of the early 2000's, in that it seemed during those periods in magic history, there were a LOT of publications a LOT of different magicians -- of course, booklets in the 1970's/80's and DVDs in the early 2000's.   Lots of magic from lots of people that were not very well-known (or were completely unknown).    A few of those
    booklets and DVD's
revealed some unknown genius, and introduced the magic world to a valuable new voice.   And many of those booklets and DVD's have faded into obscurity, because many of them did not really offer anything of value to practical, working magicians.    And booklets not in those two categories were generally a mix of some strong stuff and some medicore stuff.
I would classify this booklet in that latter category --   actually, some of what I now would term mediocre (meaning probably does not end up in anyone's working repertoire) is due to changes in style since 1980.  For instance, the book opens with a very good stand-up cigarette production routine.  In 1980, this would be a "worker".  But nowadays, I don't think there are many cigarette acts.   (Who will be the first to adapt this lost magical genre to e-cigs?)     There is a neat handling of a packet effect similar to Cervon's Dirty Deal.    Most card workers these days would prefer to use a (now) popular count as the main sleight, but would bet the old-fashion sleight used in Cooper's handling (which was also used by Cervon in his Dirty Deal) might fool a lot of those who never used it before.
There are a few other stand-up effects using props that you might own or can make, though I think these may be seen as less practical for today's performing style and conditions.
But much of the magic in this book HAS endured over time, and does represent some good, practical magic, including some very good Kidshow routines and funny bits of kidshow business.  Also a clever torn and restored bank note, rope routine and Cooper's handling of Cups and Balls (which includes a number of ideas that Cups workers may wish to incorporate in their own routine).

New-old dealer inventory, so like new and unused, even though it is 35+ years old.
Since I probably scared off some less adventurous buyers with my description above, I will price this booklet well below what it is worth!
